With the continued success of the company, we acquisitioned Barney & Berglin,
Inc. Barney & Berglin brought their well respected general construction
company to the table and NLC became a full spectrum General Contracting
Company.
Nenana Lumber company is an 8a Small Business Certified Company, HUBZone
Certified, Woman & Alaskan Native Owned. We are a self contained
company that self performs. In 2005 NLC added both an electric & plumbing
company. Both International Electric & International Plumbing are stand-alone
LLC’s and bring a tremendous cost savings to the customer. Having both
plumbing & electrical companies “in house” provides us with greater flexibility
and efficiency for each project.
NLC has grown to a full spectrum general contractor specalizing in design
build, commercial, government, and LEED Certified Buildings. NLC has a proven
track record of on time, on budget, and safe projects. NLC excells in remote
building site locations due to our ability to pre-plan with both the customer, and
the design team.
NLC has specialized in numerous fast tracked projects in remote locations. Our team
at NLC continuously does on time completions despite the challenges of remote, difficult,
and harsh weather conditions.
NLC history of projects includes the Princess Hotel Fire rebuild. On March 23, the state’s largest structure fire struck Princess Hotel down consuming 200,000 square feet and crippling its ability to be operational in June. With two other companies we were able to start 24 hour operations for demo and rebuild Princess back to its original size and standards. By June 10 the fast tracked project had been finished and ready for tourist to enjoy the grandeur Denali Park has to offer.
NLC flew to Kantishna Roadhouse, which is a high end tourist resort inside Denali Park boundaries. A fire had burnt down vital resort operation facilities which would make it difficult for the resort to function. Employee housing, generator rooms, and mechanical rooms were burnt to the ground. Due to the remote location of the resort, all items had to be flown or trucked in. Everything from generators, building materials, and food had to be trucked or flown over the treacherous ninety eight mile road. Working feverishly yet safe, NLC was able to make Kantishna Roadhouse operational and ready for tourists by June 5. From schools in the bush to large projects in the cities, NLC has met the challenges of building in the north. Our company roots stay strong in Alaska, and we strive to keep looking up and towards the future. Despite all the fast tracked projects Nenana Lumber Company has one of the states lowest accident rating. We work hard and always put safety as our paramount goal. Whatever your challenge is, NLC has the experience and perseverance to make that challenge a reality. |
